He has been teaching in Hermiston since 2008. His journey began as a reading teacher at the original Armand Larive building. In 2017, he continued his journey in education outside of the classroom as the head of 'Hermiston ONLINE! Program'. In 2019, he moved into a full-time role as an instructional coach for grades 6-12 until April of 2021, when he was named the planning principal for Loma Vista Elementary School.

A message from Principal Browning:

"My roots in education can be traced to my grandmother, who taught Art to middle school students in Yakima, Washington. She was a master at building positive relationships with students, which I witnessed from a young age. I still remember frequenting shops with Grammie in Yakima and coming across her students. It was evident immediately that these students had a profound respect for my grandmother. I didn't really know it at the time, but those interactions had a profound impact on my future me. This passion for building strong, positive relationships will be the cornerstone of my leadership of Loma Vista Elementary School."

He has two daughters, Leslie (24) and Morgan (21) who are products of the Hermiston School District. His wife also works in the Hermiston School District as the principal of Sandstone Middle School. His step-sons currently attend Hermiston Schools, Tabor (11th-grade at HHS), and Trayson (6th grade at Sandstone). Mr. Browning enjoys spending time with his family traveling, boating, golfing, and adventuring.
