The Hermiston School District Board of Education is proud to announce that the district’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, qualified for the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, as judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the district’s financial story and motivate individuals to read the report.
This award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
When a Certificate of Achievement is awarded to a government, an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement (AFRA) is also presented to the individual(s) or department designated by the government as primarily responsible for its having earned the Certificate.
“The district’s business department staff is top-notch,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tricia Mooney. “Receiving this award for the sixteenth time is a testament to their hard work. We also have great leadership from the school board as well as community members who have served on the budget committee. La Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Hermiston se enorgullece en anunciar que el informe financiero anual integral (siglas en inglés ACFR) del distrito, para el año fiscal que finaliza el 30 de junio del 2021, calificó para el Certificado de Logro de Excelencia en Informes Financieros de la Asociación de Oficiales Financieros del Gobierno de los Estados Unidos y Canadá (siglas en inglés GFOA), según lo juzgado por un panel imparcial para cumplir con los altos estándares del programa, el cual incluye demostrar constructivamente un "espíritu de divulgación detallada" para comunicar claramente la historia financiera del distrito y motivar a las personas a leer el informe.
Este premio es la forma más alta de reconocimiento en el área de contabilidad gubernamental e informes financieros, y su logro representa un logro significativo por parte de un gobierno y su administración.
Cuando se otorga un Premio de Logro a un gobierno, un Premio al Logro de Informes Financieros (siglas en inglés AFRA) también se presenta a la(s) persona(s) o departamento designado por el gobierno como principal responsable de haber obtenido el Certificado.
